Player Vs Monster
The land of Cryptopia is seldom a peaceful place, and monsters of great power lurk in the wilderness. Defend Cryptopia! is a Player vs Monster (PvM) mini-game within CryptoVillages where players join forces to defeat huge monsters, receiving prizes with every attack (and additional rewards if the monster is slain in the allotted time).

Monsters intermittently appear in-game for a 24-72 hour period, and players will be able to attack them using troops within their buildings. For each successful assault, random rewards will drop (resources and/or dubs), with the quantities of these determined by the strength of the attacking force and the power of the monster. Furthermore, each attack will reduce the monster’s overall health bar as well as contribute to the players overall score for that spawn. Should the monster be defeated in the allotted time, all players who contributed to its destruction shall receive additional rewards. Those who contributed the most in terms of damage, will also receive an additional bonus.
Players can enlist up to five [5] commanders and five [5] weapons, which provide additional bonuses when attacking world bosses. These bonuses are determined by the rarity of the NFT (see tables below), with commanders providing an increased relic drop rate for every attack (%), and weapons providing an attack bonus (%). However, it is important to note that weapons cannot be used as a standalone item, and each of these must be linked to an individual commander.

KEEP AN EYE OUT ON SOCIAL MEDIA
There is no set schedule for when monsters will appear in Cryptopia, and unless players are vigilant, they may miss out. However, those following the various CryptoVillages social media platforms may get some early information. See the Social Media section of the white paper for a comprehensive list of where these hints may appear.
Defend Cryptopia has two leader boards, one that tracks damage dealt for an individual encounter, and one that shows the cumulative damage dealt across all monster battles for the season. More information regarding how these prizes are awarded will be released closer to launch.
